Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif presented a check of Rs100 million and and key of a Honda Civic car with a number plate “PAK 92.97” to Olympian gold medalist Arshad Nadeem.
According to the media reports, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif presented the more-than-promised reward to Arshad Nadeem at his home village in Mian Channu today (Tuesday, August 13). Not only this, she gave a cheque of Rs5 million to Nadeem’s coach Salman Iqbal Butt as well and lauded him for training the athlete.

On August 8, the javelin hero broke the global record with a throw of 92.97 meters, ending Pakistan’s 40-year-long gold medal drought and creating a new world record. Upon reaching the Olympian’s residence, Maryam gave his mother Razia Parveen a warm embrace and expressed her gratitude for her son’s extraordinary accomplishment. Subsequently, the mother and the CM had a lengthy conversation.
The javelin thrower’s family members posed for selfies and photos with Maryam while Nadeem thought back on his Olympic competition. According to the chief minister of Punjab, he has made the country’s happiness never before seen. On this occasion, additional guests were MPA Sania Ashiq, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Zeeshan Malik, Senior Minister of Punjab Marriyum Aurangzeb, and Sports Minister Faisal Ayub Khokhar.
