We deserve criticism over our performance: Mohammad Rizwan

Mohammad Rizwan – the wicket-keeper batsman of the national cricket team – acknowledged his flaws and said that the Pakistani cricket team deserved criticism over its dismal performance in the T20 World Cup 2024.

According to the details, the opening batter Mohammad Rizwan made these remarks while talking to media in Peshawar. He said that after the poor show, we deserve criticism. Those who can’t face the flak, cannot succeed. There was no single reason behind a team’s defeat. Multiple weaknesses led to Pakistan’s early exit from the tournament.

According to Rizwan, the squad members were also disappointed as they were unable to realize the aspirations of the country. He said, “The Green Shirts could not claim to wield strong batting and bowling after the T20 World Cup debacle.”Regarding grouping, he refuted rumors that the squad was biased because everyone played for the green flag.

The right-handed batter responded to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s comments on the need for “major surgery” in the Pakistan team by saying, “When you get sick, you get surgery.” As the board chairman, he has the authority to do so. He is free to choose who he wants to keep and who does not.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Cricket Team exited from the T20 World Cup 2024 at the group stage which drew criticism from fans, analysts, and cricketers alike, as they suffered defeat at the hands of minnows US as well.
