Murtaza Wahab, the candidate of the Pakistan People’s Party, was elected Mayor of Karachi.
According to the unofficial and inconclusive result shared by the media channels, Murtaza Wahab won with 173 votes. Jamaat-e-Islami’s Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman got 160 votes.
The reports said that the polling process for the election of mayor and deputy mayor of Karachi was held in Arts Council Karachi, in which voting for Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman was completed after voting was completed for People’s Party nominee Murtaza Wahab.

Earlier, the door of the polling station Arts Council was closed as soon as the polling time started.
The candidate of Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman and the candidate of the Pakistan People’s Party Murtaza Wahab, both were present at the Arts Council to participate in the election.
During the voting process, Pakistan People’s Party leaders Nisar Khoro and Saeed Ghani were also present at the Arts Council.
