Pakistan is not responsible for the doings of Taliban: PM Imran Khan

The Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that what the Taliban are doing has nothing to do with us and Pakistan is not responsible for their actions.

Accrding to details, the Prime Minister has made these remarks while interacting with the Afghan media representatives in Islamabad on Thursday. He said Pakistan has tried its level best for a political solution in Afghanistan.

Imran Khan has reiterated there is no military solution to the Afghan conflict. He stressed that an inclusive government is the only solution for peace in Afghanistan. He also regretted the accusatory statements that recently emanated from Afghanistan against Pakistan.

The Premier further stated that no country has tried as hard as Pakistan to bring the Taliban to the table of negotiations. Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan to access the Central Asian countries, he said, adding that we have signed an agreement with Uzbekistan for a railway project through Afghanistan.

PM Imran Khan has said that if there is a civil war in Afghanistan, it will almost spill over to Pakistan’s tribal areas. He said that this is the last thing we want as we already lost seventy thousand people in the war on terrorism.

“There are already three million Afghan refugees in Pakistan and given our economic conditions, we cannot afford to have another influx of refugees,” Imran Khan said.

The Prime Minister made it clear that Pakistan has no favorites in Afghanistan and not following the policy of strategic depth any more.
