Pakistan to host Global Health Security Summit tomorrow

Caretaker Federal Minister for National Health Services Dr. Nadeem Jan said that a two-day global health security summit is commencing in Islamabad tomorrow (Wednesday, January 10) to ensure pandemic preparedness and response on an equity basis.

According to the details, this Caretaker Minister for National Health Services Dr. Nadeem Jan expressed his views regarding the two-day global health security summit at a news conference in Islamabad today (Tuesday, January 9) with Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi.

The Health Minister further stated that Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar will inaugurate the moot and more than seventy national and international delegates will attend it. He said we are pursuing a big goal through this conference, stressing it is aimed at ensuring that all the countries have equal access to facilities, human resources, vaccines, and financing to cope with any outbreak and pandemic.

Speaking on the occasion, the Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi said that it is a matter of great distinction for Pakistan to host the summit.

While responding to a question, the Health Minister said that relevant departments have been advised to stay vigilant regarding a possible resurgence of the new variant of COVID-19 variant JN.1. He said for this purpose border health security system is also being strengthened.

Dr. Nadeem Jan added that on the sidelines of this international conference, we are also expecting health cooperation with various countries including Saudi Arabia. He said we are also working to organize a consortium in coordination with the private sector for the production of vaccines.
