Pakistan urges world body to end the ongoing rights abuses in IIOJ&K

The objective of the world body was to prevent war and use of force against the independent state, the Permanent Representative of Pakistan Mission to the United Nations Munir Akram has said, adding that Pakistan has been victim of attacks by the terrorists being harbored by the neighboring state.

According to media reports, Munir Akram has made these remarks while speaking at an open video conference Arria-formula meeting on “Upholding the collective security system of the UN Charter: the use of force in international law, non-state actors and legitimate self-defense”.

Munir Akram has said that struggle to get internationally acknowledged right to self-determination cannot be dubbed as terrorism. He said Kashmiris in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) have launched struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination.

The Permanent Representative of Pakistan Mission to UN has asked world body to take measures to end the ongoing rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said human rights are under threat everywhere and we continue to see egregious and systematic human rights violations.

Pakistan Envoy also expressed concern over global resurgence in intolerance, discrimination, racism, and violence against minorities and vulnerable groups, including women and children.
