The Prime Minister of the country, Imran Khan has appreciated the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for giving universal health coverage to all of its citizens.
Imran Khan has expressed his views in a tweet on Thursday. He said that he is proud of government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for taking this lead.
The Prime Minister hoped that all other provinces will follow the suit.
“We are moving to do the same at the federal level,” he wrote.
The Premier further said that despite financial problems the KP government have taken a bold step of giving universal health insurance coverage of Rs 1 million per family to all KP-domiciled citizens.
Imran Khan said that it is a first step towards welfare state and this is in line with our founding father’s vision for Pakistan.
The Prime Minister has said that this policy is only prevalent in a few developed states & not in the United States of America (USA).
