PSL match rescheduled after Islamabad United’s bowler tests positive for Covid-19

The match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators of Pakistan Super League 2021 has been rescheduled and will now be played on Tuesday (tomorrow) at 7pm after a player from the Islamabad squad tested positive Covid19.

According to details, this was announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Twitter. The match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators was scheduled for Monday.

In a tweet, the PCB said, “A player from one of the sides featuring in this evening’s match has tested positive. The player had [shown] symptoms two days ago and had been immediately isolated.”

The Board further stated that other members of the player’s team had tested negative, while the players of the other side were being tested.

The player who was tested positive for coronavirus was identified as Islamabad United’s bowler Fawad Ahmed.

The franchise has stated this in a tweet and confirmed that all other of the team players and members had tested negative and had been “cleared to play”.

“We wish Fawad a speedy recovery. All other teams are currently undergoing tests. Islamabad United are cleared to play,” it said.
