The Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday on a two day visit to Pakistan. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation.
According to media reports, the President of Tajikistan has been recieved by the Federal Minister Khusro Bakhtiyar at Nur Khan Airbase.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan and the Tajik President will lead their respective sides in the delegation-level talks during the visit.
Pakistan and Tajikistan will exchange views on deepening bilateral cooperation in diverse areas, including economic, trade, political, investment, energy, security and defence, culture, education and regional connectivity.

The reports further stated that both the countries are expected to sign a number of agreements and MoUs during the visit of President of Tajikistan. The visiting dignitary will separately meet with President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi.
The Spokesperson of the Foreign Office, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri has said in a statement that Pakistan and Tajikistan enjoy close brotherly relations underpinned by commonalty of faith, shared history and cultural affinities.
