Taliban welcomes first Ambassador of China to Afghanistan since takeover

Taliban welcomed the first Ambassador of China to Afghanistan, Zhao Xing today (Friday, September 15).

According to media reports, China has become the first country in the world to name a new Ambassador, Zhao Xing, to Afghanistan since the Taliban takeover in 2021.

Afghan Taliban said in a statement that Zhao Xing’s appointment is a sign for other nations to establish ties with Afghanistan.

On the other hand, China said that its policy towards Afghanistan is clear and consistent and it will continue advancing dialogue and cooperation with the country.
