According to PTI, the former Prime Minister Imran Khan would be elected chairman unopposed, while other seats will have competition from multiple people. The decision comes after the Election Commission of Pakistan told the party to hold intra-party elections or risk losing the bat as its electoral symbols.
The ECP requires every registered political party to undertake intra-party elections every five years. Following the elections, political parties are expected to provide a certificate verifying the results.
