Vice Admiral Naveed Ashraf appointed as new Naval Chief of Pak-Navy

Vice Admiral Naveed Ashraf has been appointed as the new Naval Chief of the Pakistan Navy.

On Saturday, Naveed Ashraf will be promoted to the rank of Admiral, according to a Pakistan Navy spokeswoman. The ceremony for the change of command will take place at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad on the same day.

In 1989, Naveed Ashraf received a commission in the Pakistan Navy’s Operations Branch. He holds degrees from the US Naval War College, the Royal College of Defense Studies in the UK, and the National Defense University in Islamabad.

The extensive experience Vice Admiral Naveed Ashraf has gained through holding important command and staff roles.  He is the Naval Headquarters’ Chief of Staff at the moment. Naveed Ashraf has also received the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat awards in appreciation of his remarkable professional contributions and bravery.
