During her speech, Ekta recounted her experiences as a producer, beginning when she and her mother Shobha Kapoor founded Balaji Telefilms in her father Jeetendra’s garage. She claimed that she and her mother started a business with “lady producers” at a time when the industry was largely male-dominated. She said: “The irony is the world’s population is solely produced by women.”

The Producer also showed gratitude to her father and brother who were babysitting her son Ravi. She said, “I’d also like to thank the men in my life. My brother and father, are watching my son right now. You give my house a traditional, yet wholesome feel. Thank you to Lakshya and Ravi, my nephew and son, who served as my surrogate babies and taught me that sometimes the hardest routes may lead to the most magical experiences. My motherland, I am bringing home your Emmy.”
