Fawad Chaudhry – the former Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting – has been sent to Adiala Jail on judicial remand by the Accountability Court of Islamabad.

According to the media reports, a hearing was held against former Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry in the case of corruption in construction projects in Jhelum today (Thursday, January 18). His case was heard by Judge Muhammad Bashir of the Accountability Court of Islamabad.

Speaking to Judge Muhammad Bashir on the occasion, Fawad asked, “Sir, I heard your health had deteriorated. How are you now? A lot was written in the newspaper.” The Judge said that he was fine, that’s just how the newspaper people make news.

The lawyer said that Fawad Chaudhry is a former federal minister and also a lawyer, he should be given B class in jail. The Judge said that he would write B class in jail for Fawad Chaudhry.

A bail application was also filed on behalf of Fawad Chaudhry. The accountability court issued a notice on Fawad Chaudhry’s bail application and called for arguments on February 1.
