Former President Mamnoon Hussain passes away at age 80

The former Pakistani President, Mamnoon Hussain has passed away on Wednesday in Karachi at the age of 80.

According to details, the news of his demise has been confirmed by his son Arsalan Mamnoon. He said that his father was suffering from cancer and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital for the last two weeks.

According to media reports, Mamnoon Hussain was originally a businessman and he earned an MBA degree from the prestigious Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi. He started his political career as a Muslim Leaguer in 1969.

He was the 12th president of Pakistan, who served from 2013 to 2018 during the tenure of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and he was one of the most senior PML-N leaders.
