Habib Mehsud – Sher Afzal Marwat’s brother-in-law – killed in Manzai

Habib Mehsud – the brother of a former inspector general of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police Salahuddin Mehsud and the brother-in-law of the Chairman PTI Imran Khan’s Lawyer Sher Afzal Khan Marwat – was killed in Manzai today (Friday, August 11).

According to the media reports, the news has been confirmed by Sher Afzal Khan and Tank DPO Waqar Ahmad. The Tank DPO said that Mehsud was passing through Gira Pathar when unknown guys on motorcycles opened fire on him and his guard. The guard was injured, and men kidnapped and abducted Meshud. He stated that the police tracked and engaged the abductors as soon as they received word. Police then engaged in a confrontation with the men, causing damage to the police vehicle.

The abductors then took the brother of the former inspector general of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Habib Mehsud to Manzai, some 14 kilometers from Tank, and shot him dead, according to Tank DPO Waqar Ahmad. His bodyguard also died as a result of his injuries. A large police force is conducting a search operation in the neighborhood.

Meanwhile, Chairman PTI Imran Khan’s Lawyer Sher Afzal Khan Marwat said in a statement on the social networking website X, “My brother-in-law Habib Khan has been killed by his abductors who kidnapped him a few hours ago. His gunman has also been shot and killed. Police arrived at the spot, and SHO Tank was also killed. The accused have not been identified so far.”
