Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Asif Ali Zardari are vying for the office of President of Pakistan.

According to the media reports, the joint candidate of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Peoples Party Asif Ali Zardari and Sunni Ittehad Council’s candidate Mahmood Khan Achakzai are vying for the office of President of Pakistan.

The nomination papers of Asif Zardari and Mahmood Achakzai were filed today (Saturday, March 02) for the presidential elections. The elections will be held on the 9th of this month.

The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on Monday. The president is elected by an electoral college comprising members of the Senate, the National Assembly, and the four provincial assemblies. Voting is held through a secret ballot.
