Imaan Mazari gets bail, PTM Leader Ali Wazir sent to jail on judicial remand

Imaan Mazari – the Human Rights Advocate and daughter of former Federal Minister Shireen Mazari – gets bail in the case of interfering in the work of the government and damaging the government property while PTM Leader Ali Wazir was sent to Adiala Jail on 14-day judicial remand.

According to the media reports, the District and Sessions Court Islamabad has granted bail to Imaan Mazari in the case of interfering in the work of the government and damaging the government property against a bond of Rs 30,000 and sent Ali Wazir to Adiala jail on 14-day judicial remand.

The case was heard against PTM Leader Ali Wazir and Imaan Mazari for interfering in government work and damaging government property today (Tuesday, August 22). The court pronounced a reserved judgment.

Nothing was found on Imaan Mazari during the investigation, according to the defense attorney Safai Qaiser Imam, who spoke at the beginning of the hearing. No one was threatened, and no glasses were broken. Imaan Mazari was detained in custody for 24 hours, according to him, and there is no justification for prolonged detention. He further noted that Imaan Mazari is a woman and that speaking honestly does not warrant keeping her behind bars. Her investigation has been concluded, and she is currently being held in jail. Atifur Rehman, the prosecutor, opposed Imaan Mazari’s request for bail. He said that Imaan and Ali Wazir were in charge of the rally, that Imaan had mistreated the government, that vandalism had occurred, and that Imaan’s role in the incident was obvious.

The prosecutor, Atifur Rehman had earlier asked for a longer physical remand of Ali Wazir in the court of Judicial Magistrate Waqas Ahmed. Various government properties were also vandalized during the event, and some evidence was also found on them, he claimed, adding that Ali Wazir is not working with the police on the inquiry.
