The Additional Advocate General for Punjab Ghulam Sarwar Nihang submitted the report during the hearing of a petition pertaining to the release of PTI Lawyer Advocate Majeed Haider. He is said to be a partner of another leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insad Hassaan Niazi.

The media reports said that the information comes days after the court was told that Hassaan Niazi was sent to the military for trial. It said that the concerned authority was investigating Majeed. The prosecutor sought time to file a response to the petitioner’s request, which the court granted and adjourned the hearing till August 22.

It is pertinent to mention here that on May 9, after Imran Khan, the Chairman of the PTI, was taken into custody on the grounds of the Islamabad High Court, violent protests broke out. A large number of protesters attacked government and military facilities.
