The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan has been arrested from Lahore after the decision of Islamabad Sessions Court in the Tosha Khana case today (Saturday, August 5).

According to the media reports, the family of the former Prime Minister said that the police have arrested Chairman PTI Imran Khan from Lahore. They said that the police will take the PTI chairman from Lahore to Islamabad.

The media reports further stated the possibility of the PTI Chairman being transferred to Kot Lakhpat before being taken to Islamabad.

It is to be mentioned here that additional personnel have been deployed by the police at various nooks and crannies in the Federal Capital Islamabad. The police also prepared lists of the workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf active in the Federal Capital. There is a possibility of cracking down on the workers in case of possible protests.

Earlier, the Sessions Court sentenced PTI Chairman to three years imprisonment in the Toshakhana case. A hearing was held on the admissibility of the Tosha Khana case in the Sessions Court.

In his ruling, Judge Humayun Dilawar stated that in the Tosha Khana case, the allegations against Chairman PTI are proven, as is the charge of revealing fictitious assets against him. He stated that Chairman PTI has been sentenced to three years in prison and that arrest warrants have been issued for him. He stated that a fine of one lakh rupees has been levied on Chairman PTI and that the motion for admission has been denied.
