The President of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi has said that the services of journalists are valuable for strengthening democracy in the country.

According to media reports, the President has made these remarks while talking to newly elected office bearers of the Karachi Press Club on Wednesday. He congratulated the members of new body.

During the meeting, the matters related to the stability of democracy and establishment of the Islamic welfare state were discussed. The President has lauded role of journalists. He also assured them to resolve their issues.

Meanwhile, addressing members of Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Karachi the President has said that empowerment of women will help ensure economic development of the country.

Dr Arif Alvi further stated that the incumbent government has always consulted various stakeholders before launching development projects in construction industry.
