President Dr. Arif Alvi bestowed the honorary title of Hilal-e-Pakistan on visiting Chinese Vice Prime Minister and President Xi Jinping’s Special Representative, He Lifeng, in recognition of his contributions to Pakistan-China friendship and the advancement of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
According to the media reports, a special award investiture ceremony was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad today (Monday, July 31st). During the ceremony, the President conferred Hilal-e-Pakistan on the visiting Chinese Vice Premier and President Xi Jinping’s Special Representative, He Lifeng.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Senate, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Federal Ministers, and services chiefs also attended the ceremony.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Vice Prime Minister of China played a prominent role in China’s international economic relations and implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, of which CPEC is a flagship project. As the Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, he was instrumental in the planning and execution of multiple CPEC projects in Pakistan.
The Vice Prime Minister of China is on an official visit to Pakistan. He will sign several MoUs in Pakistan. The Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif also hosted a luncheon in honor of the Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and his delegation.
