No polio case detected in Pakistan in last 7 months

No polio case has been detected in Pakistan during last seven months, the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Faisal Sultan has said.

According to media reports, the Special Assistant Dr Faisal Sultan has made these remarks while addressing an event in Islamabad on Friday.

On the occasion, the Special Assistant on National Health Services has said that this is an important milestone which will be taken forward. He said our future campaigns will focus on high risk areas in order to completely rid the country of this disease.

Dr Faisal Sultan has clarified that polio drops are completely safe. He also appealed the parents to get their children administered anti polio drops whilst giving no ears to propaganda.

The Special Assistant was appreciative of international organizations including Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for extending cooperation to Pakistan in anti-polio campaigns.
