Pak vs NZ Pakistan New Zealand

The BLACKCAPS have abandoned their tour of Pakistan at the last minute before starting the match on Friday following a New Zealand government security alert.

According to media reports, the decision was confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in a press release. The PCB said that the New Zealand Cricket informed us they had been alerted to some security alert and have unilaterally decided to postpone the series.

The Board further stated that PCB and government of Pakistan made foolproof security arrangements for all visiting teams. We have assured the New Zealand Cricket of the same, the Board said.

According to PCB press release, the Prime Minister of Pakistan spoke personally to New Zealand’s Prime Minister and informed her that we have one of the best intelligence systems in the world and that no security threat of any kind exists for the visiting team.

The Board said that the security officials who travelled with the New Zealand team were satisfied with security arrangements made by the Pakistani government throughout their stay here.

“PCB is willing to continue the scheduled matches. However, cricket lovers in Pakistan and around the world will be disappointed by this last-minute withdrawal,” PCB added.
