The government of Pakistan will not impose complete lockdown during the 4th wave of Covid19 pandemic feared to surface during current month.

This was stated by the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar while addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Thursday.

On the occasion, the Pllanning Minister has said that during the past waves of Covid19, the government’s strategy to handle the pandemic and overcome its after-effects has been very successful.

Asad Umar has urged the masses to keep on following the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and vaccinate themselves to cope with 4th wave of Covid19 pandemic in an effective manner.

“However, in case the ratio of positive cases goes up, the government would opt for smart lockdown as was done during the past phase,” he said.

The Planning Minister added that NCOC through a letter informed the Kashmir Election Commission about violation of Covid19 SOPs during ongoing election campaigns.
