PM thanks IMF for $3 billion SBA with Pakistan to support economy

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar – the Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan – has expressed gratitude to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for approving the three-billion-dollar Stand-By Agreement to support Pakistan’s economy. 

According to the media reports, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar expressed his views while talking to IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in New York on the sidelines of the 78th UN General Assembly session.

On this occasion, the Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan said that a strong focus has been placed on protecting the vulnerable segments of society. He briefed the IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on various measures taken by the government to stabilize and revive the economy of a country.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar affirmed that these initiatives aim to create a stable and conducive environment for sustainable economic growth and investment.

Speaking on the occasion, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva appreciated the concerted efforts of Pakistan in implementing policies and reforms to revive the economy. She assured that the IMF remained committed to continued engagement with Pakistan.
