Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed the desire to translate the tremendous political goodwill and bolster Pak-UAE economic ties into a stronger economic partnership.

According to the media reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his views regarding Pak-UAE economic ties while talking to UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, who paid a courtesy call to him, in Islamabad today (Monday, March 18).

The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi congratulated the Prime Minister on his re-election conveyed the best wishes of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and hoped that the strong fraternal ties between the two countries would be strengthened further in the years ahead.

On the multilateral side, PM Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the United Arab Emirates for successfully hosting the COP 28 meeting on climate change last year as well as its efforts to bring peace to Gaza while serving as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. He also appreciated the UAE for hosting nearly 1.8 million Pakistanis who were a bridge between the two countries.

The ambassador reiterated the leadership of his nation’s commitment to Pakistan and stated that the UAE is eager to collaborate with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s administration to forge closer connections. On behalf of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, he invited the Prime Minister to come to the United Arab Emirates as soon as possible.

While accepting the invitation, the Prime Minister also reiterated an invitation to the President of UAE to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience and said the people of Pakistan are waiting to accord him a very warm welcome.
