Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited the Terracotta Warriors Museum in Xi’an, China along with his delegation today (Saturday, June 8).

According to the media reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation were briefed on the preservation and restoration of historical heritage and the promotion of tourism during the visit to the Terracotta Warriors Museum in Xi’an. The Prime Minister visited various parts of the museum and appreciated the beauty of the ancient Chinese historical heritage and Chinese craftsmanship.

Speaking on the occasion, PM Shehbaz Sharif said that great nations like China protect their historical heritage. He said the protection and restoration of this historical heritage by the Chinese government is worthy of emulation. He said China has made its mark in every sector through its hard work.

The Premier thanked the Chinese President Xi Jinping for his invitation to visit the museum. He said Pakistan is rich in historical and cultural heritage. He expressed a commitment to restore the country’s historical places and convert them into tourist spots.   

The Prime Minister of Pakistan also held a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the historic Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The two leaders affirmed consensus on the up-gradation of the CPEC and advancing the development of the mega project in the second phase during the meeting.

The Prime Minister praised President Xi’s innovative Belt and Road Initiative and Global Development Initiative, emphasizing that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the BRI’s flagship project, has made a substantial socioeconomic development contribution to Pakistan. He emphasized that Pakistan is fully committed to ensuring the safety and security of Chinese nationals, as well as the protection of Chinese projects and institutions in Pakistan.
