Mehmood Ur Rasheed passed away in District Jail Lahore?

Rumors have spread recently that the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Mian Mehmood Ur Rasheed passed away in District Jail Lahore.

According to the media reports, the authorities of the District Lahore Jail denied rumors on Sunday that PTI Leader Mian Mehmood Ur Rasheed passed away. The jail authorities said that PTI Leader Mian Mehmood is in the District jail of Lahore provided with all necessary medical facilities. They said that the Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is completely healthy and fine.

The Jail authorities further stated that Mehmood Ur Rasheed was shifted to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) for an echocardiography test with the approval of the Government. The PTI Leader was shifted back to the cell the same day after a complete checkup by the consultant professor.

The authorities said that these baseless and false rumors are attempts to defame the Punjab Government and the Punjab Prisons Department.

It is pertinent to mention here that the death of PTI leader Mian Mehmood Ur Rasheed has been circulating on the internet for the past few days and the jail authorities had to clear the air about the rumors.

According to Wikipedia, Mian Mehmood Ur Rashid is a Pakistani politician who served as the Provincial Minister of Punjab for Housing, Urban Development, and Public Health Engineering from August 27, 2018, to March 28, 2022. From August 2018 to January 2023, he served in the Punjab Provincial Assembly.
