Pakistani journalists need to align themselves with the latest global trends in technology and media for a secure economic future.

This was stated by the Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi while addressing a condolence reference organized in memory of the late journalist Pervaiz Shaukat at the Press Information Department in Islamabad today (Wednesday, January 31).

Speaking on the occasion, Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi underscored that digital media represents the future of the industry, highlighting the imperative to establish digital institutions with enhanced editorial systems and specialized focus. He highlighted the importance of specialization in a particular field of journalism and mentioned that those who pursued this path became successful journalists and gained recognition in the media.

Murtaza Solangi also called for the skill development of Pakistani journalists in both technology and a specific field of journalism. He paid glowing tributes to the services of the late Journalist Pervaiz Shaukat, spanning over four decades. Pervaiz Shaukat consistently raised his voice for the economic rights of journalists on various platforms, including the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Expressing grief over his death, he stated the services of Pervaiz Shaukat would always be remembered.
