PM visits mausoleum of national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited the mausoleum of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in Baku today (Thursday, June 15).

According to the media reports, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, who is on a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan, paid glowing tribute to the services of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, and laid a floral wreath on the mausoleum.

The reports further stated that the Pakistani Premier will meet President Ilham Aliyev later today. Meanwhile, a delegation of Azerbaijan ministers will also call on PM Shehbaz Sharif to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the trade and energy sectors.

Earlier, on his arrival at the airport, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was received by Azerbaijan’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Yagub Eyyubov, Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov, and Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan Bilal Hayee.

Before the departure of the Prime Minister to Baku, in a statement on his official account on the social networking website Twitter, he said besides expediting the early finalization of the Preferential Trade Agreement, he will hold important talks with Azerbaijani leadership to open up avenues of cooperation in energy, banking, financial services, and IT sectors.
