Cyclone Biparjoy Update: The government of Sindh has put the administration on high alert in Karachi and Hyderabad divisions to cope with any untoward situation arising out of the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm BIPARJOY over the Northeast Arabian Sea.

According to the media reports, this was stated by the Spokesperson of Chief Minister House in a statement issued regarding Cyclone Biparjoy Update today (Thursday, June 15).

In the statement, the Spokesperson of the Chief Minister House said that Provincial Chief Minister has also directed commissioners of Karachi and Hyderabad, the Karachi Police Chief, and DIGs to remain alert to cope with any untoward situation arising out of the cyclone.

It is to be mentioned here that the National Disaster Management Authority said that the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm BIPARJOY over the Northeast Arabian Sea has moved North-northeastward during the last 06 hours. The National Disaster Management Authority said that the Cyclonic Storm BIPARJOY over the Northeast Arabian Sea now lies at a distance of about 247 kilometers south of Karachi, 265 KM South of Thatta, and 176 KM South-southwest of Keti Bandar.

The National Disaster Management Authority further stated that the maximum sustained surface winds are 111 Kilometers per hour with gusts of 139 Kilometers per hour around the system with a maximum wave height of 30 feet. The National Disaster Management Authority is continuously monitoring the system and will issue update accordingly about the Cyclonic Storm Biparjoy.
