Dilawar Khan Sannan – the Pakistani champion who won the gold medal in the World Martial Arts Games in America – is still waiting for the attention of the government of Pakistan.
According to the media reports, Pakistani Martial Arts Champion Dilawar Khan Sannan expressed his views while talking to the media during a reception held in Karachi today (Thursday, August 17). He said that even after making Pakistan’s name known at the international level, no one from the government contacted him. If the government gives its support, then many athletes can raise the name of Pakistan around the world.
Dilawar Khan Sannan stated that he was glad to have made the name of Pakistan renowned, but he regretted not receiving government acknowledgment. For the occasion, I worked hard and knocked on everyone’s door. Sponsorship was difficult to come by. Many young athletes in the country, like me, are hoping for government support.

The Pakistani champion stated that the competition was fierce during the World Martial Arts Games and that defeating opposing player Eli Davies in the finals was difficult. Thank Allah for defeating him in the competition. The thrill of victory is difficult for me to put into words.
In terms of self-defense, he stated that most women endure harassment in the current environment. I believe that women should practice martial arts for self-defense in order to protect themselves.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dilawar Khan won the gold medal at the World Martial Arts Games in America this month after defeating American competitor Eli Davis in the 77 kg division. Dilawar Khan had previously become the fifth Asian to win a bronze medal at the 2021 Ju-Jitsu Championship.
